Commissioned artworks by Kaff-eine

Finally the day has arrived that Kaff-eine will be painting our murals at The Melbourne Food Depot offices in Lygon Street, East Brunswick. First I should explain how I got to this exciting point. Kaff-eine is a well known Melbourne street artist working in many artistic mediums. I have been following Kaff-eines work for many years, spotting many while walking down the painted alley ways of Brunswick and central Melbourne. Contact was established and a couple of meetings took place. Kaff-eine is not the scary dude I had thought (an important point to note is that Kaff-eines identity has been requested to be kept secret which makes writing this quite hard). The whole process was a joy and so easy compared to other designer/artists I have had to work with. Everyone at The Food Depot was open to any design as long as the colours blended with the existing scheme. What we ended up with was more than what we wanted, it incorporated the characters interacting with our products and our personality.
I can see more future collaborations ahead. The works on the brick walls were done with aerosol and the works on the doors are a combination of white acrylic paint and markers. Great interest has been sparked by the paint spotters in the street art community. We are happy to share the art with small groups but we are not always open to the public please ring us to arrange a time. Meanwhile take a look at the creative process below. I hope these bring you as much joy as they have us in such a short time.
