This pure dried salt is used for old fashion salting of pork and other meats. It contains no preservative or nitrates. If you wish to try how it was done in the 18th century then this is the product. Salting is one of the oldest forms of preserving food.

How does salting work?
Most of the bacteria or fungi cannot survive in such a high saline environment. What happens is due to this unequal levels of salt between the pork and the bacteria osmosis occurs. This leads to the living cell drying out and dying.

This product is not to be confused for or substitued with pink salt
