Walocel C (CMC) Powder 50g

Dow is one of the major producers of purified and highly purified sodium carboxymethylcellulose (CMC). This is a highly effective additive for improving product and processing characteristics in various fields, including food, technical applications and pharmaceuticals. Cellulose is insoluble in water. Dow transforms the raw material into the sodium carboxymethylcellulose, which is soluble in hot or cold water.

Viscosity of this product:
Viscosity 40,000 mPa's (as a two percent solution)

Recommended product dosage:
Sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) for use as a thickener in water-based systems, typical dosage is 0.2 to 0.7%

Solubility:
Cold or hot water soluble. Delayed solubility in pH-neutral cold water.

Applications:
Used as a viscosity modifier (thickener) as it has excellent water storing capacity and also to stabilize emulsions in ice cream.
