Recipe for Home Made Hand Sanitizer (sanitiser) WHO Approved

MFD has received many emails, DM's and calls regarding how to make a suitable sanitiser. After contacting WHO and the Australian Dept of Health we can provide the following information.

INGREDIENTS:
Isopropyl alcohol  - Can be bought online but we do not supply. Remember its a dangerous good for shipping.
Glycerol or glycerin - Buy it from MFD
Hydrogen peroxide - Supermarket
Distilled water - Supermarket
Spray bottle - Bunnings or Supermarket

METHOD:
1 - 355ml of alcohol mix with 2 teaspoons of glycerin (glycerol, glycerine).
2 - Mix in 1 tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide with 90ml of distilled water.
3 - Add solution 1 to solution 2
4 - Place finished solution into the spray bottle
5 - an essential oil can be added of your choice to add some personal flare.


IMPORTANT NOTES:
This solution is not a gel, it is a spray. The solution could possibly thickened into a gel using Methocel A4M but you will need to do your own experiments.

If your using rubbing alcohol, use far less water. The final misture needs to be 75% alcohol.
The glycerine is an important ingredient as its a humeactant and will stop your hand drying out.
