Fossil Powder 1.4Kg
This product was demonstrated at The Melbourne Food & Wine Festival 2010 by Mugaritz chef Andoni Aduriz. This product is a little safer to handle than Calcium Oxide used in the demonstration. Since the demonstration many Australian chefs have taken to using this product. It takes a bit to of effort to work out how to apply it to your style but is well worth it. We now have artichokes, pears, bananas and apples being fossilised with new ideas daily. What you use is really up to your creativity.
Many people have been using this fossil powder for modernist cuisine or molecular gastronomy. See below for an example of using our fossil powder by Shaun Quade at our ionic01 event October 2014
To make the pureed translucent vegetables will take a bit of practice. We have tested this product and have obtained results. Care still needs to be taken using this strong alkali product. Alkali powders can have seriously damaging effects on eyes, lungs and skin.
To obtain a product certificate please select this option at time of purchase as discounts apply. The certificate will be posted in the file section of your account dashboard as a PDF file. Why do we charge for this paperwork?
The majority of our customers do not require this paperwork so we are able to pass on the savings. The cost of supplying this paperwork for a $10 product outstrips the product price. Compliance is a major cost to our company and if you require this then its only fair you share the cost. These fees can get quite high for example with all the information required for Organic Certification. See below on how to avoid the fees.
Don't want to pay for a certificate?
Then please purchase a box quantity of the product. This varies depending on the product but is usually a 25Kg container.
